Best Hotel and Travel Agency Chosen in a Public Vote Organised by an Estonian Tourism Portal

The turismiweb.ee tourism portal conducted a survey among the site’s visitors to determine the public’s favourite hotel and travel agency.

In the middle of June, the website published a list of 183 Estonian hotels and 186 travel agencies. More than 1500 people voted, and Savoy Boutique Hotel and Tensi Reisid were declared the best hotel and travel agency, respectively.

The other top-three hotels were Grand Rose Spa and Meriton Grand Conference & Spa. The other travel agencies in the top three were Hecato Reisid, which has only been open for a year, and Estravel, an established company.

The site’s marketing manager Ms Maria-Helena Loik said that there were no surprises for her in the voting results – all the top 3 hotels are big well-known hotels; the top 3 travel agencies have a good reputation and have never had any bad publicity.

“Perhaps we expected the winner to be someone who advertises a lot, but these results really show that people take other aspects into account and rely on their own experience,” said Loik.

In addition to being the people’s favourite, Savoy Boutique Hotel and Tensi Reisid are also entitled to display the special label “Estonian People’s Favourite” on their website and promotional materials. Turismiweb plans to hold similar voting competitions in the future as well, and to turn the label into a widely recognised sign of quality.
