Stalker festival at Kultuurikatel
Tallinn is a picturesque city that has caught the eye of many more or less famous directors who have shot their films here. One of the best known of them is Stalker by the world-famous Andrei Tarkovsky, the key scene of which was filmed in 1979 at the location of today’s Kultuurikatel. The gate of the Zone was a threshold to a mysterious world where people could fulfil their most hidden wishes.
The symbol of Stalker or an adventurous person who searches for himself and stalks, lives on at the Kultuurikatel as the Stalker Festival, which takes place already for the second time this weekend. This makes the Kultuurikatel an installation environment – electronic music and visual, audio, film and performing arts are combined into one mystical world, making the guest a part of it. The guest will experience unexpected situations, senses the presence of new, perceives the speciality of the room at the power station, which is opened to the public in its current form for the last time.
Sounds exciting and a little complicated, doesn’t it? But actually there is nothing complicated – if you want to spend a cultural weekend a little differently, come to the Stalker Festival!
